About Me
Rosalie Mortillaro, Wedding Officiant
In my 15 years as a wedding officiant, I have officiated at a variety of weddings, from small, intimate gatherings in a French Quarter courtyard to lavish, formal affairs with 200 guests. I’ve officiated an “April Fools Day” wedding where all of the guests donned flamboyant costumes, as well as a solemn ceremony conducted at the foot of a hospital bed.
The ceremony can be custom-tailored to your specifications to include personal readings, prayers, unity candle ceremony or sand ceremony. I have experience with a variety of religious and cultural customs, such as a Native American sage blessing and a Celtic handfasting. I have even co-officiated ceremonies with Hindu and Buddhist clergy (with the clergyman performing the religious part of the ceremony, while I perform the civil ceremony).
My father, Judge Steve J. Mortillaro, was the Justice of the Peace in Metairie for 25 years, and I learned at his knee. I received “Best of 2015” and “Best of 2016” awards from Thumbtack based on customer feedback for my wedding officiant services. I was also named a Thumbtack “Top Pro” in 2017.
It is my honor and pleasure to be a part of your special day. Thank you for your consideration!
